As we plan for the rest of the year, we’ve decided that for the first time in 30 years, we will be closed Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day. This will give the staff and doctors an opportunity to recharge and enjoy time with their families. To accommodate this change, we will open on select Saturdays:
- October 16th
- November 6th
- December 4th
If you would like to be seen before the end of the year, please call soon to schedule your appointments as our schedules may fill quickly. As always, we’ve included below interesting information that we hope you’ll enjoy.

Or Regular Sunglasses?
We’re asked this question often and the answer really comes down to preference and what activities you plan on using these sunglasses for. For those who spend time fishing or boating, polarized lenses allow you to see below the surface of the water. It decreases glare and enhances contrast by blocking out all light rays except for vertical ones. The majority of our patients prefer polarized lenses.
However, there are circumstances where polarized lenses may not be recommended such as in snow or rain, when it’s important to see reflections off of icy/slick patches. (Snow goggles are best for snow and clear glasses best for driving in rain.) Some find that the lenses are too dark, or that electronic devices such as your phone or GPS in the car is not viewable.
It’s best to compare a sunglass tinted lens against a sunglass polarized lens to determine what is best for you. You may also find that a gray lens or brown lens is preferred too.
