Dear <<First Name>>, Much has changed in our lives in the past few days. We know the uncertainty of the current situation may seem concerning, but we are hopeful that this will pass as we all make a concerted effort to slow down the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Our goal is to protect individuals who are most at risk of serious illness and to slow down the spread of the virus so that hospital and essential medical and emergency services do not become overwhelmed in the coming weeks. This afternoon, the California Optometric Association (COA) issued its strong recommendation that California optometrists should “voluntarily suspend nonessential or non-urgent optometry care for the next 14 days”. We wholeheartedly agree with the recommendations of the COA and are rescheduling all appointments that are non-urgent. We will have limited office hours daily from 9 AM – 12 PM for patients with urgent eye concerns for the next two weeks until further notice. If you need to pick up glasses or contact lenses, please call the office ahead of time. If you are experiencing eye pain, a sudden change in vision, red eyes, discharge, or seeing flashes and floaters, please contact our office between 9 AM and noon. Our 24-hour phone line will also be available if you need to reach the doctors after hours. We understand that this may serve as an inconvenience to some of you, but we thank you for your understanding in this time. Please know that we are available to help in any way. We know that this is an especially difficult time for those whose families are not nearby. If you live alone and/or are in need of help, please contact our office so that we may assist you or connect you with the right resources.
