Revolutionary Non-Surgical Treatments
for Dry Eye Disease

We are excited to introduce a revolutionary treatment to treat dry eye disease (DED). Many of our patients suffer from DED, a chronic condition where eyes do not produce quality tears to lubricate and nourish the eye. This leads to stinging, redness, itchiness, blurred vision, and a feeling of grittiness in the eyes. Radiofrequency (RF) and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapies are cutting-edge, non-surgical solutions designed to enhance tear production, alleviate dry eye symptoms, and  improve overall eye health.

How It Works
Radiofrequency (RF) Therapy gently uses heat to clear blockages and stimulate tear production. This process also promotes collagen rejuvenation, reducing fine lines around the eyes.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy targets the skin’s surface layers to reduce inflammation, easing dry eye symptoms. It also addresses aesthetic concerns like wrinkles and pigmentation, enhancing both eye health and appearance.

Who is a candidate for these treatments?
Adults over 18 with DED. However, these treatments are not recommended for those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have certain eye conditions. Contact us to schedule your dry eye evaluation to determine if you’re a good candidate. Contact Us

Managing Allergies This Summer
By Lillian Tsai, OD

As people have been spending time outdoors, we are seeing more individuals with ocular allergies. Ocular allergies can cause itching, redness, tearing, and a gritty sensation in the eyes. Symptoms can range from mild irritation to severe discomfort, including swollen and red eyelids.

Fortunately, there are effective treatments to ease your discomfort:

  • Antihistamine eye drops: Help relieve itching and redness by blocking histamine.
  • Lubricating artificial tears: Soothe dryness and irritation. (Pro-tip: Refrigerate them for a cooling effect.)
  • Corticosteroid eye drops: For severe or persistent symptoms, our doctors may prescribe these to reduce inflammation and provide relief.

If you’re struggling with itchy, uncomfortable eyes, please make an appointment with one of our doctors today. We’ll help you get back to enjoying summer with clear, comfortable eyes.

Tips for Keeping Your Eyes Infection-Free with Contact Lenses

With the new school year approaching and busy schedules ahead, our doctors want to share essential tips to help prevent and manage eye infections.

  1. Clean Your Eyelids and Eyelashes Daily – Use a gentle facial or lid cleanser to remove any debris and makeup that could transfer to your lenses.
  2.  Practice Good Hygiene – Always wash your hands and fingertips thoroughly before handling yours lenses. For non-daily disposable lenses, rub your contact lenses with disinfectant cleaning solution before storing them.
  3. Maintain Your Contact Lens Case – Clean your contact lens case daily with hot water and let it air dry. Replace your case every 3-4 months or run it through the dishwasher.
  4. Avoid Water Exposure – Keep lenses away from water to prevent contamination.
  5. Do Not Sleep in Your Lenses – Unless you are wearing orthoK lenses, sleeping in lenses can trap bacteria and lead to infection.
  6.  Watch for Signs of Infection – If your eye is red, irritated, painful, or more blurry than usual, refrain from wearing lenses. Use preservative-free artificial tears as needed for comfort.

If symptoms persist for more than two hours without improvement, please call our office. We’re here to help!
